Come join us at the European Kaizen League OPEN in Zwolle's in the sports theater! This is a top event where you can show your Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu/ grappling skills.
Kaizen League 3 - 2 FIGHTS GUARANTEED!
Whether you prefer Gi or No-Gi, every competitor will get at least 2 fights. We use a double elimination system, so even if you lose, you can still try for a Kaizen League medal in the 3rd place bracket.
Our venue has 10 competition areas and a large warm-up zone, the biggest in Europe!

Format
Kaizen League Official Format
Weight Category Divisions: Every competitor gets a minimum of 2 matches through the double elimination system. The system creates a second bracket after the first competitors have lost the first round of the matches in any given bracket, with every subsequent round in the original bracket competitors that lose a fight will be added to the second bracket that was created after the first round of matches. If a competitor loses the fight in the second bracket he is eliminated from the bracket and can no longer try for third place. This new bracket will be competing for the third place slot in any given category.
Absolute Divisions: Absolute Divisions work on the bases of Single Elimination. Any Competitor that is Eliminated from his match can no longer proceed to subsequent matches.
Protocol
All matches will uphold the following protocol.
All matches are to be held with the amount of time designated to your category.
All matches are to be overseen by at least 1 Referee and 1 Judge ( Table Judge ) For matches of the Blackbelt, Brown Belt, Professional and Elite level category matches will have at least 2 Referees and 2 Judges.
The Referees are there to make sure the rules and regulations of Kaizen League Open are upheld.
All matches will continue no matter what until the time is over or one of the contestants is unable to continue fighting. ( in case of power outages points and advantages will be counted on paper.
Fighters are to be in the Bullpen 30 minutes before their match.
Fighters will be escorted to their respective fighting area and back.
Every Fighter is allowed 1 coach at the fighting area.
All Fighters must be weighed in and registered correctly to compete.
Any competitor found to be competing in a belt category beneath his original belt category will be barred from competing at Kaizen League in the future.
Competitors are to be uniformed in appropriate apparel.

For NO-Gi categories, we offer three levels: beginner, intermediate, and professional.
* Beginner: Less than 2yrs training in BJJ, Judo, Wrestling, Sambo etc + No Professional MMA fights
* Intermediate: 2yrs-4yrs training & no major/top level medals in Grappling, Wrestling, Sambo etc or competed in any professional MMA fights
* Professional: 4yrs+ If you have not won major medals you have the option to compete at Intermediate or Professional. Once you have competed at a level, you can not move back to the lower level.
* Masters: +35 Beginner, Intermediate & Professional
For GI registration, you can enroll based on your belt and age. We offer categories for Adult, Master 1 and Master 2.

GI IBJJF Ruleset:
All Weight Classes and Categorys will be adhearing to a fight time of 6 minutes.

No Gi ADCC Ruleset
- FOR ADCC NOGI ROUNDS All Athletes and Categorys will fight = 6 mins / with 3 mins overtime if it's a draw. (Max. 1 overtime)- First 3 mins no points- Second 3 mins with points (negative and positive points)- Overtime 3 mins (negative and positive points).
We'll try to stick to schedules as much as we can, but keep track of updates on Smoothcomp before and during the tournament. You can also follow the live brackets on screens or your phone. It's essential to be punctual at the Warm-Up Area and arrive 30 minutes before your match in the Bullpen. You'll be escorted from the Bullpen to your mat.
Weigh-ins: Weigh-ins are from 8:30 to 11:30 If you miss your slot, you'll be removed from the bracket, with a 250-gram tolerance. if yourOverweight? You will be removed from bracket. You must weigh in 1 hour before your fight.

Make sure to weigh in with-out your Gi , regardless of whether you're competing in Gi or No-Gi. If you're doing both, you only need to weigh in once.Check in at the weigh-in Remember, everyone, including Ultra Heavyweights, must check in at the weigh-in.

COACHING
For coaches, the rule is as follows: each team receives 2 keycards. If additional keycards are needed, they can be purchased for €15 each. Only one coach per competitor is allowed to accompany them inside.
COACH CHAIR and CROWD CONTROL: We will have 1 chair on each side of every score table, 1 for each coach of the competitor on the mat. The only other people allowed within the barricades during the tournament are the competitors on the mat having their match and the competitors on deck.
MEDIC ON HAND: A professional medic will be available on-site, ensuring participants' safety and well-being. WARM-UP MATS/ room: Efforts are made to provide a dedicated warm-up area for competitors, although it is subject to space availability.
TV SCOREBOARDS: Kaizen League OPEN boasts exceptional scoreboard displays, enhancing the competitive experience and spectator engagement.
TEAM AWARDS: Honoring the spirit of teamwork and excellence, special awards will be presented to outstanding teams, commemorating their collective achievement and success.
